Swami Satchidananda's followers are diminishing in Montreal as some students and yoga teachers are leaving his Integral Yoga Institute after a group of American women accused the Virginia-based guru of sexual misconduct. A woman associated for several years with Satchidananda, who has a number of institutes across North America, calls the Swami's community a "cult" and says his students work in a type of father-daughter relationship that leaves women confused and unable to say no, a type of "spiritual incest." She also cited his demand for unquestioned authority, vows of obedience, celibacy, and routing of money to the institute.
